Inserting Conditional Statements Using DraftMate

Conditional statements are a powerful feature in SpotDraft that lets you make your contracts more dynamic and efficient. They allow you to control which parts of your document are shown or hidden based on specific conditions. This article will guide you step-by-step through the process of inserting conditional statements into your SpotDraft contracts using DraftMate.

1. Accessing DraftMate

1. Log in to SpotDraft and navigate to the "DraftMate" tab.
2. Click "Get Started" to begin creating your template.
3. Choose a Workflow to start editing.

2. Inserting a Conditional Statement

1. Select "Conditional Statements": Click on the "Conditional Statements" icon in the DraftMate panel.
2. Highlight the Contract Language: Highlight the part of your template that you would like to render in the contract if the condition you have set is met.
3. Define Your Condition: Set the conditions that are required to show the section you have highlighted:

• "Variable Name": Select a variable from your contract that you want to use in the condition. 
• "Operator": Choose an operator to compare the variable to a specific value. Some common operators include:
  • "Is Equal To"
  • "Is Not Equal To"
  • “Greater Than”
  • “Less Than”
  • "Is Present"
  • "Is Not Present"
• "Value": Enter/Select the specific value you want to compare the variable to.

3. Adding and Removing Conditions

You can add more conditions to your statement by clicking the "Add Condition" button. This allows you to create complex logic based on multiple variables. If you need to remove any conditions from your statement, simply click the "Remove Condition" button.

4. Applying the Conditional Statement

Once you're happy with your conditions, click the "Insert" button in the pop-up window. The conditional statement will be applied to your document.
