Fixing a PDF in your browser

The following are the recommended methods to fix a PDF if you're unable to upload the document to SpotDraft.

🦊 Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open the PDF file in Firefox.

  2. Click the Menu (☰)Print (or press Ctrl + P / Command + P).

  3. Click on more settings, set the scale to 99

  4. Click Save.

⚠️ Note: In older versions of Firefox, the “Save to PDF” option might not appear directly. You can install a PDF add-on or open the file in another browser if needed.

🌐 Google Chrome

  1. Open the PDF in Google Chrome.

    • Right-click the file and choose Open with → Google Chrome.

  2. Press Ctrl + P (Windows) or Command + P (Mac) to open the Print dialog. Click on Print using system dialogue

    3. In Scaling settings - set the scaling to 99%

  3. Click "PDF" to save the PDF in your desktop.

  4. Choose a location on your computer and confirm — Chrome will generate a new, corrected PDF.

Note:- When printing from browser, do not use the default print settings. This will not fix the pdf.

Tip: If your original file was scanned or contained form fields, this process “flattens” the PDF — meaning the layout and text become fixed and can’t accidentally move or lose formatting later.

Sejda

Upload the document to Sejda, and download the fixed PDF. Once it's fixed, you can upload it again on SpotDraft. Sejda is a widely used and secure tool for editing PDFs.

🧩 Why Use “Print to PDF”

  • Fixes corrupt or rotated pages

  • Flattens forms and annotations (useful for e-signatures)

  • Standardizes file format for uploading or sharing
