This article will walk you through the steps of setting up a Clickthrough Agreement using SpotDraft. Clickthrough Agreements are used to collect consent things for agreements like Privacy Policies, Terms of Service, etc.
Understanding Clickthrough Packets:
A Clickthrough Packet in SpotDraft is like a folder for organizing multiple legal agreements, such as your Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. This packet allows you to manage these agreements together, making it easier for users to review and consent to them as a group. Each Clickthrough Packet can contain up to 10 agreements.
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Navigate to Clickthrough: In SpotDraft, go to the navigation item labeled "Clickthrough."
- Create a New Clickthrough Packet: Inside the Clickthrough section, you’ll find a button labelled "Create Clickthrough." Click it to create a new Clickthrough Packet.
- Name Your Packet: Give your Clickthrough Packet a descriptive name that reflects the content (e.g., "Privacy Policy and Terms," "Commercial Agreement").
- Add a Description: You can provide a brief description of the content of the packet. This helps you keep track of what's inside.
- Create an Agreement Template: Within your newly created Clickthrough Packet, you'll have the option to add templates. Click the "+ Templates" button to begin creating a template for your Clickthrough Agreement.
- Name Your Agreement Template: Click on the text input and give your Clickthrough Agreement Template a descriptive name (e.g., "Privacy Policy, Terms of use, etc.").
- Create Your Agreement Template: The template will open in an HTML editor. You can use this editor to add your text and format it. Here are some formatting options you can use:
- Headers: Use headings to create a clear structure for your document.
- Formatting: Use bold, italic, underlines, and other formatting tools to emphasize important sections.
- Colors: Add colors to your text or backgrounds to enhance visual appeal.
- Dividers: Add dividers to separate sections of your document.
- Tables: Use tables to organize information clearly.
- Preview your agreement:Click on "Preview" to see how your agreement will look. If branding and customization(such as Logo, custom styles, etc.) have been set up for your workspace, you'll be able to preview the agreement with those features included.
- Publish Your Template: Once you've finalized your template, click the "Publish" button to make it live.
- Link to a Clickthrough Packet: After publishing the Clickthrough, use the "Linked Clickthrough Packet" option to link it to a packet. If needed, you can also create a new packet to which you can link the agreement.
- Copy Link: After publishing, you'll be able to copy a live link to your Clickthrough Agreement.
Additional options available after publishing the first version of the agreement include:
- Major and Minor versions: SpotDraft lets you create both minor and major versions of your Clickthrough Agreements:
- Minor versions are for small changes that don't significantly affect users' rights or obligations.
- Major versions are for substantial changes that do impact users' rights or obligations.
You can start creating these versions only after you have published the initial version of your agreement. The first version is always published as a major version.
- Re-acceptance: For major version updates, SpotDraft provides an option to collect re-acceptance from users who have already acknowledged a previous version.
