How to Discard Unpublished Changes in a Workflow

This article explains how to discard any unpublished changes you've made to a workflow in SpotDraft.

Why You Might Need to Discard Changes:

Sometimes, you might make changes to a workflow (like adding new steps or editing existing ones) but decide not to publish them. Maybe you made a mistake, or you're waiting for feedback from your team. In these cases, you can discard the unpublished changes and revert the workflow back to its previously published state.

Steps to Discard Unpublished Changes:

  1. Hover over Manage and click Workflow Manager.

  1. Locate the workflow you want to revert. The workflow needs to be in the Published state. Click to enter the workflow details page

  1. Click on the three-dot button in the header and choose "Discard Changes" from the dropdown menu.

  1. A pop-up window will appear asking if you are sure you want to discard the changes. Read the warning message carefully, as discarding changes will revert the workflow back to its previously published version.
  2. Click "Discard" to confirm.

Result:

The changes you made will be discarded, and the workflow will be back to its previously published version. You'll see a green notification saying "Workflow changes have been discarded successfully".

Things to Remember:

  • The discard option is only available for published workflows.
  • Once you discard these changes, they will be lost and cannot be recovered.
