Creating Contract Templates with Draftmate

This article will guide you through creating your first document template using SpotDraft's powerful DraftMate feature. By templatizing your documents, you can save time and ensure consistency in your contracts and other important documents.

Getting Started

  1. Log in to SpotDraft and navigate to the "DraftMate" tab.
  2. Click "Get Started" to begin creating your template.
  3. Choose a Workflow to start editing.

Using Variables

Variables are placeholders that allow you to insert dynamic information into your template. This is especially useful for things like names, addresses, dates, or any other information that might change from one document to the next.

  1. Click on the "Variable" icon on the right-hand side of the screen. This will open a menu where you can select the type of variable you want to insert.
  2. Find the variable you wish to insert by searching in the list.
  3. Highlight the text in your document where you want the variable to be placed.
  4. Click "Insert."

Adding a Signature Block

Signature blocks are essential for any document requiring legal sign-off. DraftMate makes it simple to add professional-looking signature blocks to your templates.

  1. Click on the "Signature Block" icon in the DraftMate menu.
  2. Select the parties who will be signing the document 
  3. Select the fields you want to include in the signature block
  4. Click "Insert" and DraftMate will automatically generate a signature block at the bottom of your document.
